Master-class on Organ and improvisation presented by Johannes Geffert

On April 14, 2014 in the Belarusian State Academy of Music will be held a master-class on Organ and improvisation presented by Johannes Geffert, Prof. of organ and improvisation, Head of Protestant Church Music at the State Higher School of Music in the city of Cologne (Germany).

J. Geffert studied church music in the Conservatory of Cologne under Dr. M. Shneider, then studied in the UK with the touring organist N. Kinaston. Then was an organist and condutor of the Aachen Bach Society, founder of the Aachener Bachtage. Teacher at the R. Shumann Higher School of Music in Dusseldorf, director of the church music of Bonn famous for a high level of liturgy music and regular concerts of cantata-oratorio, chamber and organ music. Principle organist of the concert hall "Beethovenhalle" in the city of Bonn. J. Geffert is involved in the active concert activities participating in organ festivals in European countries, and also in Japan, USA, West- Indies and South America. Has recorded more than 25 recordings and compact-disks. Conducts master-classes for young musicians in Germany and beyond her measures. Member of the jury of numerous organ competitions. Created an orchestra of old instruments "J.Ch. Bach - Academia" for performing Bach's oratorios and traditional church music in old castles of Germany. Profound researcher: author of scientific articles on organ development and performing. Proof-reader and commentator of works of American and English organ works.

The master-class will start on April 14, 2014 at 12.00 in room 408, Building 1 (30, Internatsionalnaya str). Open to public - all wishing to come.
